Msheireb Museums celebrates the history of four historic heritage houses in the heart of Msheireb Downtown Doha. Souk Waqif discovery & Treasure hunt game

There is no a better place in Doha to get a full glimpse into the Arabic culture than Souk Waqif, in the heart of Doha! A guided tour will take you to explore the souks, noted for selling traditional garments, spices, handicrafts, pets and much more! A treasure hunt game at the Souk is a great activity to learn more about the trading history and traditional handicrafts of Qatar. We will finish the day lying down at an Arabic coffee shop in one of the alleyways!

Al Zubarah Fort & UNESCO World Heritage Site

Zubarah Fort in Qatar is one of those places considered as a must, even though it doesn’t look really impressive, but it is located in an area north of Qatar, where you can feel an atmosphere that reminds the old times, when the old city nearby of Zubarah, was an important trading and pearl diving center, back in the 18th century. The fort, built in 1938, is a typical Arabic fort that you may explore all around the country (especially in the coastal villages) as well as in countries nearby such as UAE and Bahrain. A guided tour will take you to inside the fort and in the small little museum.

Jumeil & Al Ruwais fishing Port

Leaving Zubarah, we drive to the nearby city of Al Ruwais, the northernmost in the country. On the way, we stop at Jumeil abandoned village. An amazing archaeological spot off the beaten tracks, consisting of abandoned houses and a mosque, entirely built using coral rocks and sea shells, right on the coast near a little mangrove area. The village is older than Al Zubarah, believed to be an important trading port, before the foundation of Al Zubarah. Afterwards, we stop at Al Ruwais fishing port, which has a beautiful sea view (perfect spot for amateur photographers!).

Sheikh Faisal Museum

You shouldn’t skip a trip to the Shaikh Faisal’s Museums.It gathers a unique private collection owned by one of the royal members Sheikh Faisal. Showcasing 15 000 historical pieces among which traditional Qatari artifacts, old-timers from all over the world as well as paintings & international art.
